If soldiers have their gun and nuns have their rosary, I always have my “worn out” 3-year old 1 GB trusted flash drive with me.  I use it to backup my important files, for emergency downloads and other contingency measures for a geeky-techie like me (I love the way it rhymes…).  I’m wondering what kind of flash drive does Mark Zuckerberg (he’s the world’s youngest billionaire) or Bill Gates and the other rich-to-the-brim-with-overflowing-money people have.

Flashy Flash Drive

Swissmemory Prestige Flashy Flash Drive

Well, the Swissmemory Prestige has given me the answer.  Swissmemory Prestige has a collection of 1 Gigabyte flash drives that fold into housing made of 925-sterling silver or 18-karat white and yellow gold.  If Paris Hilton would not be contented to that, there is always the option of including diamonds on the casings.  The latest craze for this flashy flash drive is the Pave model, which features glittering diamonds on the top of the shinny white and yellow gold.
Interested in knowing the price?  Brace yourself. Swallow your coffee or whatever you have in your mouth first before you read the next sentence, you might get choked.  This flashy, shinny 1GB flash drive cost a cool $23,000.00.  Yep, you read it right, there is a dollar sign ($) before the number meaning it is US dollar.  It is equivalent to a 17,466.79 Euro or 2,263,060.78 or Japanese Yen or 943,000.000 Philippine Peso or 29,908,364.79 Korean Won.  The good thing about this flashy flash drive is that, the flash drive itself (storage area) can be removed for easy upgrading like changing its storage capacity to 1TB.  So you still can have you’re your Swissmemory Prestige for a quite sometime, and if you have the guts, you can try wearing it as a pendant but I guess you have to use a stud-link chain used in forklift for safekeeping purposes.
I’m wondering if computer viruses can identify a cheap flash drive like mine from those flashy gold and diamond studded flash drive from Swissmemory Prestige?  I guess not, they could also be infected by those damn irritating viruses, worms and Trojans.
